Oh boy it’s Oscar season, here I go again. Well to be fair I’ll address the news aspect of this first.

Radcliffe, of Harry Potter fame, is not pleased with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2  not even being considered for best picture. I agree that the Harry Potter films are quite good and need recognition, but the Oscar’s are a snob-fest plain and simple. Their opinions shouldn’t be so shocking.

Radcliffe commented that they don’t like kids films, unless directed by Martin Scorsese. He also claim that the Academy favors him.

Here it comes.

Gee, is that why he didn’t get the award he rightfully deserved until only a few years ago? The man is no spring chicken and they took way too long to award him. The Departed rightfully deserved it I love the film, but Scorsese deserved his Oscar long before then.

I will admit that I have not seen Dances With Wolves, but from what I understand it boils down to the tired  “prejudice is bad” card they use over and over again.

Goodfellas on the other hand showed how organized crime is full of scumbags, murderers, and deceivers. Not something to be glamorized, but to see these people as criminals.

Point is Radcliffe, don’t get butt-hurt. The nerds appreciate the time in effort put into the films you starred in. At least the people who mattered enjoy them: the audience. They fill the seats and buy the tickets after all.
